Thanks Mom

Today is a memorable day, although not a joyful day. It is the first anniversary of the death of our Mom. Betty Jane Clare was a great lady . . . and she raised great daughters (us of course). She always encouraged us to do anything we wanted and thought we could do.

When we first took our business on-line, I think she thought we were a bit crazy. (Although she loved her email, my Dad was never truly successful at getting her to understand computers). But after some time she really got into our on-line business and even tried to help. After all, the store has her name in it, Shop At Clares.

We just wanted to remember the day and thank her for being our Mom. We miss you.

Pink Woolie Wompers

Boy, did I ever stick my foot, or at least our pink
woolie wompers, in my mouth with our customer Michael. He emailed us about getting a pair of these and said his wife wanted know if they could be worn outside, like to a shopping mall. She also wanted them to be big and fluffy with longer pink fur and have pom-poms added.

Woolie wompers are a traditional style Indian moccasin slipper that are made of genuine sheepskin. What a fun name, Woolie Whompers! They are made from only one bottom piece that is gathered and stitched to shape to your foot and one top piece. They adjust to your foot with a rawhide draw string. These soft and cozy slippers wrap around your feet for unbelievable comfort.

Well our wompers are custom so we wanted to oblige. A few emails later, I inquired about what size his wife's foot was. His response was a bit off the mark. "No maam, these are for me. My wife insists I wear them and I am a men's size 8".
